"We see in China and Shenzhen an excellent opportunity for constructive cooperation for the future", said Minister Carolina Cosse to the Vice Mayor of that city, Gao Zimin, on Thursday 1st, at the beginning of the trade mission to the Asian country.

In order to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and promote investment in ICTs, Uruguay XXI is accompanying the first official mission of the year to China, led by Minister Carolina Cosse.

In the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uruguay and China, Minister Carolina Cosse will lead a delegation to that country to promote cooperation in ICT and attract investment in the sector.

The main objective of the trip is the promotion of trade and investment, as well as visits to major technology companies in the cities of Shenzhen, Canton province, and the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The mission is composed of minister Carolina Cosse, Antonio Carámbula, Cuti president Leonardo Loureiro, representatives of 25 companies in the sector and the head of the Uruguay-China Chamber of Commerce, Gabriel Rozman.

The industry minister said that "the important thing" is the "content and not the acronym" of the agreement. Cosse travels to China on Wednesday.

A delegation of government authorities, institutions and entrepreneurs of the Uruguayan technology industry will make an official visit to China from January 31 to February 6.
