This Tuesday the agreement was signed by which 1.3 million dollars will be invested. He noted that the initiative is in addition to the ongoing project 1,000 Jóvenes a Programar, of the Ceibal Plan.

"1.3 million dollars will be invested in something that the country needs as part of the Work Culture for Development strategy," said Murro, at the signing of the agreement held at the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (Inefop), along with its general director, Eduardo Pereyra, and the president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti), Leonardo Loureiro. He recalled that the project 1,000 Jóvenes a Programar is underway, which trains in programming, technical evaluation of software and technical English, initiatives announced by President Tabaré Vázquez in the Council of Ministers held in La Coronilla, department of Rocha.

He indicated that the online training will last two years and is aimed at people over 18 years of age with fourth year of secondary school approved. He stressed that it is committed to attracting talent throughout the country, that there is no age limit and that there is special interest in the participation of women. "The courses have flexible schedules so that young people from the interior of the country can participate," he said.

According to the minister, "Uruguay needs to bet on the training of young people for a sector that needs people, since it has negative unemployment". He said that this proposal is part of the growth of Inefop, which has multiplied by seven the people trained to reach 130,000 in 2017.

For his part, Pereyra stressed that the scholarships will be called Álvaro Lamé, as a tribute to the former president of Cuti, who had the idea for the project. The director of Inefop said that "it is committed to train young people to access quality jobs that provides this thriving sector.
