A report prepared by the Chamber of Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU), organizer of Cyber Monday, reveals that 31.8% of people who joined the online discount days make purchases on the Internet at least once a month. The study, conducted from a database with more than 22 thousand people who participated in the three editions of Cyber Monday, also indicates that more than half (52.4%) buy on the web more than once a year.

The age group most prone to e-commerce is the one between 31 and 40 years old (32.3%), followed by 21 to 30 years old (31.1%) and 41 to 50 years old (17.9%). Meanwhile, the products most expected by potential customers are those under the headings "Technology and PC accessories", "Clothing and Footwear", "Appliances" and "Travel".

The study also states that 88.4% of the people who registered on the website(www.ciberlunes.uy) to take advantage of the discount days had made an online purchase on a Uruguayan site in the previous year. In turn, women outnumber men by more than 10 percentage points, 55.7% against 44.3%.

Executives of companies and platforms that participated in previous editions agreed that joining the conference helps to boost and, at the same time, to accompany the growth of online sales in the country. "A campaign like Cyber Monday helps to bring people who are more alien or have not incorporated online shopping in their daily lives," said the CEO of woOw!, Leonardo Silveira. He also indicated that in past editions, the results for the platform "were very good, resulting in an increase of visits and sales during the three days of the promotion and even some days after".

In the case of woOw! technological items, household appliances, household goods and trips to Buenos Aires were the most demanded products and services, said Silveira.

On the other hand, the head of Online Marketing of Arredo, Damian Emanuel, said that in each new edition the company recorded "a growth in the number of users who participate and the number of products they buy". "The increase can be 200% in the number of orders compared to a month without an event," he added.

Emanuel also highlighted that during discount days the conversion rate is 2.2%. The conversion rate establishes the relationship between the number of sales made and the number of page views.

The possibility of associating your company with a marketing format that has great prestige worldwide was an aspect highlighted by Carolina Torterolo, general manager of ZonaTecno. "Cyber Mondays allow us to make our online sales channel known in a serious way. We have to take into account that many Uruguayans still distrust non-face-to-face sales channels, and being part of the editions is to have support, it is to generate confidence in your consumers," she said. In turn, Tortorelo said the company has increased its online sales by 400% during the days of the promotion.
