The Latin American Security Association, through this award, seeks to stimulate and recognise the best security system solutions and installations in the region, with an emphasis on innovation and the social contribution of security.
It was within this framework that SONDA Uruguay presented its project "Integrated event management system for 911".
The project, developed between April and June 2014, went into production on 28 June. It involved the development and implementation of an integrated product for the management of 911 events with the aim of making event management more efficient, reducing response times and generating agile and efficient operational and management information, necessary both for decision-making in emergency response and for decision-making by the management of the Unified Command Centre (CCU) in charge of receiving and managing 911 events.
Other benefits highlighted by the CCU include:
- Possibility to implement blacklists to filter out inappropriate calls, providing better availability of the service to those who really need it.
- Reduction of waiting times for 911 assistance.
- Reduction in event handling times due to greater agility in the entry of information into the system and the possibility of working in a single system without having to interact with different applications that are decoupled from each other.
- Better and more efficient management of the resources administered to attend events.
- Integrity of information, by having a system that integrates all the technologies used by the CCU.
