In total, this career had 16 graduates of the 32 who received this year at the new university. The rest did the degree in Dairy Science and Technology, the degree in Food Analysis and Dairy Production Systems Management.

Alejandra Viglietti, who graduated in Information Technology, said this morning on Don't Touch Anything that the career has zero unemployment.

"UTEC went out to ask companies what profiles they needed and the same industry along with the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) in various meetings were saying that they needed people to do testing, database, programming. Based on that, the career was formulated. Information Technology is a field that has zero unemployment, there are more jobs than trained people. That is why we have a great mobility, the dynamics is like that because sometimes the technology changes or one gets bored and changes jobs", he explained.

89% of graduates are first generation college students in their family. In the case of information technology, at the end of the first year students obtain an intermediate degree in "Certification in Application Development and Testing".

"The testing is first to see that things work, that do not lock, that does not turn off, that the screen is not frozen but also to do what the customer asked. So now it is very much in vogue because it is an added value that is given, the quality. The way to differentiate in putting better quality standards. And in that sense the level we have is very good, "he said.

UTEC has 850 active students. In 2014, when it started, there were two careers and 40 students. Now there are 11 careers in seven cities, with two Technological Institutes inaugurated.

Many of the courses taught at UTEC have a strong weight of video conference classes.

Viglietti, besides being a graduate, is now a teacher and said that she teaches from home. "We have a platform that we access every day if we want and on Sundays in particular for us the content of that week was enabled to start. That allowed those who had free time on Monday to put their foot in their mouth on that day and then relax. Or put a lot of emphasis on weekends. Each one arranges the time the way they want," he said.
