The Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU), with the support of Fenicio eCommerce and Proyectar Learning, began its Meetups 2019 cycle addressing the effectiveness of the tools available for e-Commerce.

Durante su exposición,  Raquel Oberlander, y  Roi Shahaf, autores del libro «El AVC del marketing digital», abordaron esta temática y dieron varias recomendaciones.

They mentioned some effective ways to increase e-Commerce revenue without focusing the objectives on getting new customers but selling more or more frequently to those who already work with the company.

Oberlander acknowledged that Uruguay needs to advance in the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence practices and tools used in the world to improve performance in the world of e-commerce.

"We see that many people open an e-Commerce and what they do is to create campaigns to bring traffic, but in reality there are many other things that can be done to streamline the process, to get more juice to that traffic that is generated, and we see that there are many practices that in many parts of the world are being done and not here," he said.

For his part, Shahaf said that out of a hundred people who enter an online sales website, only one makes the purchase directly, between five and ten do not complete the procedure and the remaining 90 abandon the operation and probably will not return to the site.

"The thoughts we are looking for refer to how to generate a communication with the site visitor to maximize and improve those numbers, because in the end e-Commence is a numbers game," he said.

He explained that there are three effective ways to increase revenue in this form of commerce. One is to find new visitors and potential customers. The second option is to sell a more expensive product or offer a larger package of services, and the third is to increase the frequency of sales from existing customers.

The key, according to Shahaf, is to go a little out of "the ordinary" using creativity and knowledge to attract visitors through what differentiates the website from its competition.CEDU began in August 2017 with its Meetups cycle, holding meetings to address trends, challenges and solutions related to e-commerce, appealing to the protagonists to overturn their experiences.

"The idea is to create spaces for exchange between the actors that make up the ecosystem of the digital economy, spaces in which sharing experiences serves for the growth of all those involved," said the manager of CEDU, Ivanna Rocha.

Due to the great response received at the meetup led by Oberlander and Shahaf, the experience will be repeated next month. Those interested can subscribe to the CEDU newsletter to receive information about this meeting and the next ones to be held during the year.
