Closing the digital divide is a necessary but not sufficient condition. The main challenge for Latin America is to use information technologies to increase our competitiveness, create more added value, achieve sustainable and inclusive development in which all citizens have opportunities to emerge, that is, to live better in more developed and equitable societies. For this, it is essential that governments, businesses, the technical community and civil society work hand in hand in this direction. That is the value of this meeting.
