TOTVS, leader in the development of business management software in Latin America and with presence in more than 39 countries, announces the progress and results obtained during 2015 in the Andean region, where the Construction sector and the new collaboration and BI (Business Intelligence) solutions were key for the Brazilian firm.
The construction industry in Peru is recognised in Latin America for its high level, presenting itself as one of the best positioned countries in the international market. According to the INEI, the employment rate in the construction sector rose to 7,500 people (2.7 %), however, this sector suffered a fall due to the contraction of industries caused by the slowdown in domestic demand towards the second quarter of the year.
Similarly, the growth of the Construction and Projects industry took a 360-degree turn in a negative direction and because of this, it was essential to implement tools to optimise practices, increase productivity and lower costs through the use of technology, to ensure quality in project management and achieve stability that would lead to industry growth.
For TOTVS, this represented an opportunity to show companies in the sector that those that were better prepared could even benefit. A gap in the construction industry is the lack of vision of financial resources and planning, therefore, with a correct implementation of business solutions developed specifically for this industry, the challenge is overcome providing better stability to the sector in Peru.
Implementing the solutions offered by TOTVS strengthens companies to project efficient management and build solid foundations. Likewise, cost control helps to determine on-line the real cost of the project, re-planning and recording scenarios. On the other hand, the optimisation of resources takes care of the improvement in the dimensioning of equipment and manpower for assignment. In addition, productivity enhancement tracks physical progress and labour recording.
An example of this is EOM GRUPO, a group of Peruvian companies in the construction sector that uses the TOP solution (TOTVS Obras y Proyectos) to have a better control of all the works and that today, is extremely satisfied with the benefits obtained, as they now have the necessary tools to ensure that they will be increasingly profitable and with this, they will be able to contribute significant growth to the productive sector in Peru.
"Thanks to TOTVS Obras y Proyectos, we can now attend to all kinds of businesses and carry out new jobs with the security of not having any surprises, as we are no longer working blind. Just next year we have other projects coming up, so this solution will be fundamental to have everything under control," said Juan Carlos Rivera, systems manager for EOM GRUPO.
Similarly, it is worth noting that Peru was the country that best received Fuig solutions in the northern region of Latin America, which also includes Ecuador, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Mexico, since a few months after its launch, the firm already has customers for this solution. Fluig is a platform for process, document and identity management, with a collaborative interface and cloud hosting; it is an ERP-agnostic layer that helps companies extract value from investments already made in information technology.
Another important event for TOTVS was the opening of a new distribution channel to continue its expansion in the Andean market through Vartec (Vartec S.A.C.), which since last June, markets the entire portfolio of solutions of the Brazilian company with a major focus on TOTVS Smart Analytics (Business Intelligence 100% cloud) and fluig. In this way, Vartec joined the distributors MIT Consulting and Grupo Peru, the latter located in Arequipa.
On the other hand, the Brazilian company had an important participation in EXPO TIC 2015: IV International Fair of Technology, Informatics and Communications, which was recently held at the Jockey Plaza Exhibition Centre.
During the Fair, TOTVS, through its distributors Vartec and MIT Consulting, was present to provide information about its Manufacturing, Construction, Fluig and Business Intelligence solutions. As a result, they had the opportunity to approach more than 200 companies, with which, important business closures are expected in the Andean area for 2016.
And of course, we could not leave out the traditional TOTVS Momento, the annual meeting that the company holds with its customers to get closer and thus create an interactive business forum, as well as to thank them for their trust during 2015 and begin to prepare the ground for the new projects that will surely arrive with the arrival of 2016.
"Peru is a very important country for TOTVS in the region and thanks to the joint work with our distributors, during this year we obtained concrete and very positive results with companies in the construction sector, results that we are sure will increase in 2016 as the sector recovers stability in the Andean region," said Martin Cayon, Director of the North Latin America Region of TOTVS.
Similarly, it is important to mention that for the region, this year was of great relevance for restructuring and new developments within the company, such as the announcement made in June of the appointment of Rodrigo Kede as the new President Director of the company, being since then, responsible for driving the growth strategy, operation, people management and leadership of the company's Vice-Presidencies.
"Undoubtedly, 2015 was very positive for the company and we are excited about the challenges that the coming year will present us, when hand in hand with our channels in the region, we will continue to be committed to offering business solutions to support the growth and improvement of the companies that use them," concluded Martín Cayón.
