Under the motto "Dream Digital" the event encourages companies to make their ultimate technological transformation.
From Monday 26th to Wednesday 28th September, the twenty-sixth edition of the already renowned GeneXus Event will take place in Montevideo under the theme "Dream Digital". The GX26 will bring together more than 3500 participants who, in 3 days with more than 100 technology activities, will listen to top-level speakers talk about the latest trends in virtual reality, cognitive technology, the internet of things, among other topics. The company's CEO, Nicolás Jodal, says: "Companies have to transform digitally to continue growing in today's world. The GeneXus Meeting is the place where we dream the next steps of that digital transformation".
The protagonists of the Digital Dream
In addition to the conferences by Breogán Gonda and Nicolás Jodal, President and CEO of GeneXus, who will open the event, there will be presentations by executives from world-renowned companies such as IBM, Gartner and Microsoft. The aim of this year's event will be to raise awareness of the possibilities that companies have in technological transformation and the range of opportunities that open up when we think and imagine the possibilities of the digital world.
Among those attending will be: Eduardo Mangarelli (Technology Director of Microsoft LATAM) who will talk about Machine learning, bots and augmented reality and Darío Debarbieri (Director of IBM) who will speak about API`s economy.
Also present will be experts in technological singularity, such as the General Manager of Cognitiva Roberto Cruz, a company that collaborates with IBM and is developing the Watson cognitive system in 23 Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America. In turn, Pablo Brenner, the Uruguayan who will present his company Collokia, will speak about artificial intelligence.
During the three days of the meeting, there will also be presentations on the progress of technology and e-government in different Latin American countries. Carlos Sacco, director of ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) will speak about the opportunities in the Brazilian market, and there will also be representation from the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology.
Other speakers, each of them protagonists in their own area in terms of digital transformation, will be: Alberto Oppenheimer (Chief Solutions Officer SAP), Alexander Blauth (Executive Partner Gartner), Carlos Clúa (Business Transformation Director of Banco Sabadell of Spain), Ramón Heredia (General Director Digital Bank of Colombia), José Elías (Eliax.com), José Clastornik (Executive Director of the Agency for the Development of Electronic Government and the Information and Knowledge Society of Uruguay), Jorge Pedro Ramírez (Systems Development Manager of TV Azteca of Mexico).
The star launch
During the meeting, the new version of GeneXus will be launched, which will bring surprises for developers as it will be user-oriented and integrated with the technology components that today make up the digital world, such as the Internet of Things, Big Data and the Cloud. The new version will include "Live Editing", a function that allows "live" modifications to be made while the app is being developed, without the need to build or deploy. By making changes to the look & feel of the application's user interface (and even its functionality), these modifications have an immediate impact on the application. "For this presentation we worked hard on the user experience, improving the interface, usability, accessibility and adaptability, as well as the design," explained Gustavo Carriquiry, COO of GeneXus.
The now classic Uruguayan event will demonstrate how technology advances to facilitate and improve people's work, but none of these developments are possible without human qualities. Leadership, the way of communicating, the right team building and discipline are vital to reach the "Digital Dream", and this aspect will also be addressed in various conferences.
