This survey was conducted between 12 July and 12 August 2015 among a national sample of 1700 people, representative of the entire population aged 12 and over.
The sample of 1700 cases represents a total universe of 2,726,000 people, 53% of whom live in Montevideo and the metropolitan area, and 47% in the interior of the country.
This sample allows a maximum margin of error of ±2.3 for a confidence level of 95% when working on the total sample (1700 cases). In the case of internet users (1376 cases), the margin of error is ±2.6.
All surveys were conducted face-to-face by RADAR Group staff.
The sampling was multistage: 52 localities were drawn (Montevideo + 8 localities in the metropolitan area + 43 in the interior), and within each one, blocks were drawn at random.
In each neighbourhood of Montevideo (following the nomenclature and geographical division of the 62 INE neighbourhoods), blocks were drawn by lot in proportion to the resident population in each neighbourhood.
Some questions were self-administered online to a sample of 3256 people randomly "recruited" via Facebook. This sample was weighted by variables such as age and internet usage rate to correct for bias, in line with the composition of the universe of internet users from the face-to-face survey.
Do you take security measures?
I am going to read you some behaviours that other internet users engage in and ask you to tell me whether you do it regularly, only sometimes or never (base: 1376 internet users).
