The startup Epic, a studio focused 100% on product photography for e-commerce, was the winner of the eCommerce Startup Competition, which took place during a new installment of eCommerce Day, organized by the Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay and the eCommerce Institute.

The objective of the contest is to support those Latin American ventures with the greatest potential for development in the area of business, and buying and selling online.

Epic platform customers range from small shops to large retails, who are provided with an automated photography solution for digital commerce. The main differential compared to traditional photography is that it works with software capable of defining and controlling variables such as shooting angles, lighting and shadows, which otherwise would have to be handled manually.

Epic is responsible for accompanying clients in the process of product digitalization and creation of packshots. In addition, templates and templates are created, which accelerate the production process and applied post production, and guarantee time savings, quality improvement, and ensure standardization in the display of products.

Those responsible for this venture born at the end of 2018 proudly received the award given during the eCommerce Day.

"It was a beautiful recognition, especially because we are just starting this project, and it is a sign that we are on the right track, that we are effectively covering a need that was unmet, and that it is the right direction," said Valentina Carro, head of the Epic platform.

This photography solution competed with three other innovative local ventures. On the one hand, Uruguay365, a digital channel that brings together all tourism providers and experiences (tours and activities) in the country on a single platform. This innovative bridge between customers and tourism service providers offers the possibility of making reservations and paying for products online.

Another of the projects that participated in the contest is called TotalUn, a tool that facilitates interaction between consumers and providers of products and services in different areas. It aims to improve the shopping experience of users through geolocation, centralizing in a single platform needs covered through different applications. It allows to include products from different suppliers in a single transaction, gives the possibility to make the purchase online, and then pick up the order at the store.

Finally, there is the national company Wikimusculos, which markets and distributes top quality products in the area of sports nutrition, fitness and sports in general. The process of acquiring the inputs is characterized by
