In times of physical distancing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), digital commerce has become an important alternative for consumers to access the products they need and businesses to maintain their activity, given this need the Chamber of Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU) decided to advance the date of the traditional Cyber Monday, to be held on 25, 26 and 27 May.
Once again, the main e-Commerce event in the country will offer users the possibility of accessing important benefits and online offers in dozens of stores that join this initiative that has high levels of approval.
"The first CIBERLUNES of this year was scheduled for June, but the need to generate commercial days to encourage consumers and merchants led us to make the decision to bring it forward to motivate the difficult days we are going through," said Andrés Marrero, director of CEDU.
Originated in 2014, CIBERLUNES has become the event that represents digital commerce in the country, with high levels of acceptance by the population and generator of a significant increase in sales. In the 2019 edition, more than 400,000 people visited the websites of the 77 participating businesses, thanks to a CEDU campaign that reached 2.2 million users.
Marrero said that in these days of confinement e-Commerce has been enhanced and has been an important alternative to maintain business relationships. CEDU is actively working with its partners to make online sales increasingly professional, and an easy, practical and safe alternative to purchase products and services.
During the next edition, the website ciberlunes.uy will be the virtual meeting place, where those interested can access the shops and brands from different areas that join the initiative and offer great benefits.
Companies that decide to join CIBERLUNES can register until April 30 by writing to ciberlunes@cedu.org.uy.
