BQN present at Agritech

20/06/19

We are very pleased to participate in the Agritech working table, Cuti's initiative to connect the ICT industry with various verticals of importance for the productive and competitive development of the country.
Reading time: 2 minutes

As an Uruguayan company dedicated to the design and manufacture of custom hardware and software solutions, with a strong focus on solutions for animal traceability, we joined Agritech, aimed at improving the supply of technological developments to serve the agricultural industry.

Martín Palacios, our General Manager, to tell us a little more about the initiative.

What are the main objectives of the Agritech table?

The Agritech table is a working group composed of Cuti partner companies that have experience in the agricultural area, we met to work together because we understood that through collaboration it was possible to enhance the development of solutions for the agricultural sector.

The objective of the roundtable is to work together with agricultural producers and organizations in the sector, to survey and understand the needs they have, and then from the companies at the table to generate appropriate solutions for those needs.

We propose that the Agritech table should be a reference center that is the articulator between the demand of the agricultural and livestock referents and the available technological offer.

How often do you meet and what value does BQN bring to the table?

This work process started in December 2018 and we have already had several meetings between the partner companies and with leading organizations in the agricultural sector, from all sectors.

A very valuable exchange has already emerged from the meetings with the organisations: meetings are being held between the organisations and the companies at the table to discuss the range of solutions currently available and the needs that currently exist, as a starting point for looking for new solutions in the future.

Some organizations have proposed to develop working days aimed at narrowing supply and demand with some specific producers who would be more open to incorporate innovative work processes.

The idea also arose of holding a business round that would bring together the participating companies and organizations in order to present and articulate possible alliances.

BQN is going to bring its experience working with the livestock sector. We have been improving solutions for livestock traceability for 10 years, and we are motivated to continue providing solutions to facilitate the work in the field. Our strength is the ability to generate electronic devices tailored to the needs, from sensors to measure specific variables to more complex products such as caravan readers.

I also believe that it will be very important to be able to integrate the different technological products that will be used in the agricultural sector, the different electronic, robotic and software products. From BQN we are going to make our contribution with that objective.

Is this table open to new collaborators?

Of course. In fact, we encourage those actors interested in contributing with their experience and knowledge to join and become important allies in this cross-cutting development project.

How does the work continue?

In the coming months we will continue to work with organizations in the sector. We have a lot of work ahead of us that we are very excited about.
