This new proposal expands the already important presence of BMJ in Latin America, with its publications and information resources, and builds on EviMed 's experience in educational activities for members of health teams in the region.
Latin America is a diverse region, with more than 20 countries and about one million physicians.
This joint initiative seeks to contribute to the solution of problems in the daily clinical practice of these professionals, addressing diseases of high prevalence in Latin America, such as the management of diabetes, frequent dermatological consultations, decision making in bacterial infections, the HIV patient for non-specialists, and frequent geriatric consultations.
Educational formats include courses, interactive clinical simulations, Q&A sessions with experts, electronic clinical athenaeums and the application of evidence-based clinical guidelines through the discussion of clinical cases.
These educational activities are accredited by BMJ Learning and other international and Latin American organizations. Certificates are awarded to those professionals who carry out an activity and also upon completion of the 2016 educational program.
