After Antel's Data Center "Ing. José Luis Massera" obtained the demanding Uptime Institute certificates in Design and Construction, last week it received two important international awards at the DCD (Data Center Dynamics) Latam Awards held a few days ago in Mexico City. This is the most prestigious international meeting that brings together world leaders in the industry to reward innovation leadership and best practices of the Data Center in its different categories.
Andrés Tolosa highlighted that "this international recognition has a very special value, since it comes just a few months after our inauguration, rewarding the level of professionalism and quality with which the Pando Data Center was built. We have a world class technological port to receive the most demanding companies in the audiovisual, telecommunications and value added industries. Antel offers the best technology in the market, in addition to having a team of professionals with solid experience in a highly competitive and constantly evolving market".
The awards received imply that Antel had to demonstrate, among many other attributes, "an innovative and pioneering approach", according to the DCD (Data Center Dynamics) Latam Awards guidelines. These values are already an integral part of the state-owned communications company's strategy, which is committed to developing the most modern and innovative convergent telecommunications infrastructure in Latin America.
Antel invested US$ 50 million in the construction and development of its International Data Center. It is the fifth center of its kind in Latin America and the 34th worldwide.
Located near Pando, it has 12,500 square meters that can accommodate up to 10,000 computers.
