In the second edition of AgTech held in our country, six national companies focused on innovation in agriculture presented their proposals: Drone.Uy (robotic and software tools to improve production management, including a robotic arm that performs foliar analysis of barley and wheat in the tillering stage), Ganado 360 (web platform for direct marketing of livestock between producers), NegoAgro (a web application to manage livestock stocks), Rizoma (traceability, management and monitoring in agricultural areas), TuCampo (marketplace for supply and demand of agricultural services) and ZHÚ (development of the bamboo ecosystem: sustainable production, balance with the environment and social welfare).
"The jury selected Rizoma and Drone.Uy to participate in the final conference, which will be held in Buenos Aires on November 17," where the winners from Argentina will also compete, Piquerez told Carve.
Three winners will travel to Australia, "where they will go to an incubator, an AgTech accelerator, to learn about the ecosystem there, which is clearly much more advanced, and to bring a lot of knowledge to apply to their ventures and also to generate impact in the country and in the region," he said.
One of the aspects emphasized by the coordinator of the AgTech Acceleration Program in Uruguay is that the products or services generated by the entrepreneurs solve "a real need" of the market, with "a business model that is in line".
In addition, Valentina Piquerez stressed the importance of "helping dialogue" and providing "continuous" support to entrepreneurs -even after they have participated in the competition-, a closeness that she defined as "the new way of investing".
In order to generate new opportunities for innovative entrepreneurs, he highlighted the "network of mentors and companies" that make up the NXTP Labs space, "which is very large" and provides them with links.
NXTP Labs is a technology venture capital fund that has investments in 174 companies in more than 15 countries. It has offices in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, and has allies in Uruguay and the United States (in Silicon Valley).
