TIC Americas is a pioneering program that supports and accelerates the innovative ideas and projects of 18-34 year olds in the Western Hemisphere. The program goes beyond presenting a business plan, providing entrepreneurs with access to training, mentoring, key networks, investment opportunities and other business resources to improve the strategy and consistency of their business models.
The teams with the best proposals selected by the Semifinals jury will receive a full scholarship to compete in the Finals, to be held in June 2020, as the youth and entrepreneurship activity of the 50th OAS General Assembly. Winners receive seed money, the award for their category, presence at the Expo, press coverage, and exposure to industry experts, government representatives, the private sector, and international organizations.
There are three categories to register proposals with novel approaches and growth potential:
Startup Challenge:
For its part, the Startup Challenge emphasizes Inclusion and Development, encouraging investment in human capital to reduce the economic and social gap, supporting proposals aimed at social, financial and economic inclusion.
Eco-Challenge:
The Eco-Challenge 11.0 focuses on identifying scalable and sustainable ideas that allow us to move beyond the use of plastics, and build a world where they don't become waste by reducing, recycling and reinventing.
Caribbean Innovation Competition (CIC):
The Caribbean Innovation Competition 8.0 will have the following priorities this year, including: (a) Adaptation and (b) Mitigation, with a special focus on Sargasso and natural disasters. It is also an opportunity to invest in the future of business, technology and youth employment in the Caribbean.
Since its launch in 2007, there are already 45, 109 young people who have registered 29, 692 business, social and environmental proposals, having around 380 finalist teams participating in its different categories, and more than 500 experts from around the world as jurors and mentors.
You can be one of the next TIC Americas success stories! Don't think twice, now is the time to capitalize your idea in any of the award categories. Find out more and register before December 31, 2019, at www.ticamericas.net.
