Startup Fintech: Be part of the largest study of the Fintech industry in Latin America

19/01/18

Startups: Finnovista and the IDB call all Latin American Fintechs to participate in the second edition of the largest regional study of the Fintech industry.
Reading time: 3 minutes

In May 2017, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Finnovista published the report Fintech: Innovations you didn't know were from Latin America and the Caribbean, where they identified 703 Fintech ventures in 15 Latin American countries and presented important findings on the current state of the sector in the region.

The IDB has recognised the rapid growth of the Fintech ecosystem in Latin America. Understanding the type of solutions being developed in the region, as well as the state of the Fintech sector in Latin America compared to other regions, have become high priorities for the IDB. Therefore, an analysis and report for the region has acquired critical relevance for the IDB.

That is why, for the second consecutive year, the IDB and Finnovista have decided to work together to update and expand the analysis in a more exhaustive and detailed way on the Latin American Fintech sector.

We invite all Fintech startups from 18 countries, specifically Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, to take part in the study by completing the BID Latin American Fintech Startups 2018 questionnaire. The responses will allow us to update the report Fintech: Innovations you didn't know were from Latin America and the Caribbean and to benchmark the current state of Latin American Fintechs in relation to other regions of the world.

The results will be published in a final report that will be released and distributed free of charge to government entities, policy makers, financial regulators, financial institutions, chambers of commerce, business communities, media, among others, during 2Q 2018, and will be available on the IDB and Finnovista websites. No individual startup information will be published without prior written consent.

We encourage all Fintech startups from the above-mentioned countries to complete the questionnaire in order to make this the most comprehensive Fintech research on the region to date, while participating in the development and awareness of Latin American Fintech entrepreneurship. All interested startups have until 28 February 2018. Are you up for it? All the information here
