Seeking to offer more and better benefits for its members, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) sealed an agreement with Antel that will allow access to Data Center services at preferential prices.
The agreement includes a set of benefits ranging from the location, a space for companies to place their servers and connectivity, to the hiring of an enterprise cloud or processing capacity and storage on shared servers to develop solutions, among others.
Leonardo Loureiro, president of Cuti, explained that the existence of Antel's Data Center is already a benefit to provide international services due to its size and superior bandwidth.
"It used to happen to some members that their clients needed to arrange contingency services in Uruguay and there was no way to do it, now there is. Having an agreement with benefits for partners is widely advantageous, because it enables them to have better prices, be more competitive, while it is an important attraction for companies in the sector. We have been working with Antel in several projects, it is a company that supports the ICT industry", he said.
The president of Antel, Andrés Tolosa, also highlighted the importance of the agreement to attract companies that currently buy this type of services abroad.
"Last year, more than 50 Cuti partner companies visited our Data Center and were enthusiastic about being able to use it. Today this agreement has become a reality and it is important for us to be able to help them," he explained.
Tolosa pointed out that one year after its launching, the Data Center has had an excellent impact on companies from different sectors, including logistics and finance, as well as foreign companies with which we are working on several projects.
José Luis Massera International Data Center, inaugurated by the telecommunications company in May 2016 with an investment of around US$ 50 million, was considered the best in Latin America by DCD (Data Center Dynamics) Latam Awards, a prestigious event that recognizes the most outstanding projects in innovation and best practices.
