Singularity University (SU), a global community with a mission to educate, inspire and empower leaders to apply exponential technologies to address humanity's grand challenges has established a new Chapter in Montevideo, Uruguay. SingularityU Chapters are created in partnership with local SU alumni and program participants and are located in some of the world's most innovative and futuristic global technology hubs. To date, there are 190 SingularityU Chapters in 77 countries. The chapter is led by Mario Tucci.
SingularityU Chapters are instrumental in enabling local regions to initiate innovation through curation of events with local experts, sponsorship of SU's Global Impact Challenges (GICs) and other initiatives at the local level. Since the launch of the first program in 2015, SingularityU Chapters has hosted a series of unique events focused on applying exponential technologies to create impact. Each year SingularityU Chapters hosts hundreds of events, attended by thousands of attendees.

Uruguay has built an exceptional innovation ecosystem and is globally recognized for its thriving software industry. The country has great potential to fully participate in the innovation of exponential technologies. This local chapter will organize regular events and meetings to help accelerate the interest and positive impact of these technologies on human grand challenges. The chapter will meet in various locations in Montevideo in agreement with local companies and entities that embrace exponential change.
