The 11th edition of Punta Tech MeetUp is held

One of the most important technological meetings in the region will take place from Monday, January 14 at the Punta del Este Convention Center.

The Punta Tech MeetUp has the support of Uruguay XXI and the event will showcase technology trends worldwide.

 

The event is attended and participated by international leaders in innovation within the technology community.

 

The scheduled start time for this Monday is 7 p.m. and the trigger will be exponential technologies. Some of the companies that will present are: the director of Digital Channels and Business Banking Services for Citi Latin America, Driss Temsamani; the assistant professor at MIT Media Lab, Kevin M. Esvelt; and Evelyn Landman, electrical engineer at the Israel Institute of Technology; among others.

 

The event will end with a debate on cryptocurrencies, one of the current trends in innovation. In that case there will be a panel composed by: Franco Amati (Signatura) and Gabriel Kurman (RSK); André Carréra (Wuzu), Andrés Bzurovsky (AstroPay) and Andrés Szafrán (CryptoFacil). The moderator will be the CEO of Technisys, Miguel Santos.

 

According to the organizers, "Uruguay is a technological hub that stands out for its wide connectivity and internet penetration. Ninety percent of Uruguayan homes have access to fiber optics, which guarantees fast downloads, and 100% of public schools have Internet access.

 

It should be recalled that since 2018 Uruguay has been part of the D7, a group of the world's most advanced states in digital development and government. The rest of the members of the select group are: Canada, South Korea, Estonia, Israel, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The objective of the D7 is to promote connectivity and digital citizenship. Another of Uruguay's characteristics is that it has become the largest software exporter per capita in Latin America.
