The Uruguayan technology company Quanam will strengthen its presence in the Central American market after signing an alliance with the company GBM, a technology solutions provider - it offers components for business infrastructure including hardware, software, consulting and specialized services - with presence in nine countries in that region, with the aim of developing business together.
The agreement, signed earlier this month, allows the local company to join forces and create a collaborative strategy and develop new business in Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Due to the size of the companies in this region, the commercial alliance will have a strong impact on Quanam's business, said Leonardo Loureiro, the company's international business development manager and current president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI). "We hope that in less than two years we will be able to reach the level of turnover that the company has in Uruguay today," he estimated.
In this context, the executive explained that "two projects have already been closed -one small and one medium-scale-, and now we are with three prospects with proposals submitted involving large jobs with more than 15 professionals per project, for three years. One of them in the Dominican Republic and the other two in Costa Rica," said the executive.
So relevant is the agreement that one of the main members of Quanam's sales team will be based in the region "to give a better follow-up", remarked Loureiro.
More services
The partnership between the two companies enables an enriched portfolio of solutions. Quanam's role will be to provide solutions in the area of advance analytics, big data and cognitive propositions.
"Between the two companies, we will enable current and future GBM customers to make more and better business decisions easily and efficiently," said Loureiro.
By adding Quanam's technology, GBM will be able to expand its services in six key pillars: business intelligence, financial and operational performance of companies, 360º analysis of customer information, data integration to take various sources of information, information governance and risk analysis, said the executive.
The group's strategic focus is to serve primarily large clients such as government entities with greater functional coverage, provide best practice business intelligence for the financial industry and provide predictive analytics for telecommunications companies.
With this agreement, Quanam extends its area of influence. The Uruguayan company currently has offices in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Santiago de Chile, Miami, Mexico City and Montevideo.
