The Jacarandá Project will be a "powerful tool" at the service of development and skilled employment.
Among its characteristics, the development of teams of companies related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) or that have a technological base stands out.
The selected CUTI partner companies will be able to increase their capacities and tools to consolidate their current projects and develop new ventures.
The activities will take place in ANTEL spaces throughout the territory and will integrate infrastructure and digital services, as well as connectivity to the national fiber optic network.
To participate in the project, companies must submit to CUTI a document that includes: Description of the project, description of the work team and tasks and city where the initiative will take place.
It is a unique opportunity for young people, especially from the interior of the country, to consolidate a professional profile in ICT.
Working together
The presentation of the project was attended by the Minister of Industry, Carolina Cosse; the President of ANTEL, Andrés Tolosa; and the President of CUTI, Leonardo Loureiro.
Authorities from the Office of Planning and Budget and the Ministry of Education and Culture attended.
Within this framework, Cosse assured that a synergy was found between the Ministry's aspiration to build more qualified jobs and help this industry to move forward with the opportunity offered by ANTEL.
He said that the technological progress and the investments made by ANTEL made the training and videoconference rooms of the public company "obsolete", so it was decided to "resignify them" and install co-working spaces there, in which the member companies of the business chamber "will have the opportunity to hire young students from UTU, high school or university in the interior of the country and work from there".
"It is new work in places where sometimes the resources are available but there is no source of work in the place, we do not have to limit ourselves to Montevideo. Likewise, there are companies in the interior that can use the human resources of the capital because ANTEL's premises in Montevideo are also part of this agreement", said the Secretary of State.
In turn Tolosa said that "the idea is to take advantage of the need of the industry that requires more resources, connecting through ANTEL's videoconferencing and training rooms to those skilled people who are in the interior of the country and have a space with the maximum technology and connectivity for the development of their projects".
For his part, Loureiro emphasized the "joint work" between CUTI's partner companies to generate capacities with leadership, in order to create work teams throughout the country, attracting talents and developing innovative projects.
