8/02/18

Become an ICT Godfather or Godmother and be a referent for the Jappers in their experiences of insertion and labour development.
Reading time: 2 minutes

Jóvenes a Programar (JaP) and the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) launch in 2018 the Labor Intermediation System (SIL) to generate the meeting between technology companies and the more than 700 graduates of JaP 2017, trained in .Net, Genexus, WebUI, Pythont, Testing, English and ICT job skills.

"ICT Godfathers and Godmothers" is a SIL program that aims to strengthen the process of incorporating these new talent profiles in companies.

Through exchange and learning activities, the ICT Godfathers and Godmothers will become, throughout the year, referents for the Jappers in their experiences of labour insertion and development.

What does the program consist of?

  • The ICT sponsors will conduct workshops, interviews and follow-up activities with a group of approximately 25 JaP students.

  • Once a month, for 10 months, the ICT Godfathers and Godmothers will meet with their groups for workshops.

  • At the end of each workshop they will have short conversations with groups of 5 students where they will be able to strengthen the bond, answer queries and make a more personalised follow-up and record of each Japper's experience.

What is the commitment of each ICT Sponsor?

  • To be trained for the workshops (2 instances in the year of 4 hours of training with Fundación Forge).

  • To give workshops, once a month, for 10 months, to a JaP group (of 2 hours duration plus travel time to the selected/assigned group).

  • To conduct support, follow-up and consultation interviews with groups of 5 people (20 minutes per interview at the end of each workshop, approximately 2 hours in total).

The SIL will be in charge of coordinating schedules, transfers, information processing and any other management required by the ICT Sponsors for the proper development of their activity.
