This Friday from 15:00 to 18:00 hours in the Municipality of Juan Lacaze an information day will be held with representatives who will arrive from Montevideo to register those interested in the Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (IT), a public university education proposal that the Technological University (UTEC) will offer in the city from August.
The activity is aimed at graduates and students in their final year of Bachillerato of any orientation of Secondary Higher Secondary Education or UTU not only from Juan Lacaze but also from neighbouring towns. At 15:00 Anibal Gonda VP Human Capital of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) will speak on the topic "Opportunities in the IT sector in Uruguay". At 15:30, Rodrigo Méndez (Acilia Internet) and Viviana Martínez (Smart Talent - Uruguay XXI) will present experiences of global services abroad, and at 16:30, Gabriel Pereira (UTEC) will explain the training proposal of the career that will be inaugurated in Juan Lacaze. In the last part of the day, interested parties will be able to pre-register.
It should be noted that the IT degree is a career with the particularity that already in the first year students who study it, will receive the official certification of the UTEC that will enable them to enter to work in this area, and may also continue the studies of the Bachelor's degree.
On 10 May, during a visit of municipal authorities to the Centro Regional de Profesores (CERP) in Colonia, teachers from the IT area expressed their willingness to adapt the training to the needs of UTEC.
