Several topics were addressed including: the state of cybersecurity in Uruguay and the world, the main challenges and alternatives for their solution. It was also possible to approach the subject from different points of view such as: application development, architecture, security and information. The information managed by the health sector is extremely sensitive and of high value in the black market. The value of a medical record can be worth up to five times more on the black market than the information on a live credit card.
Executives from the main health organizations, technology managers and security specialists participated, who showed great interest and sensitivity to the subject.
Marcela Corbo, Director of the Health area of GeneXus Consulting, talked about the security aspects to take into account from the point of view of the projects in the health sector.
Andrés Gómez, Director of NEXA, showed the state of cybersecurity in the health sector, and the benefits of DevSecOps.
Gerardo Canedo, who is in charge of the Security area of GeneXus Consulting, talked about cybersecurity as a means to achieve the correct custody of electronic medical records.
To close, Santiago Paz, Director of Information Security at AGESIC, and Fabiana Santellán, Manager of Information Security Management and Auditing at AGESIC, presented the cybersecurity framework, and shared concrete elements and tools to put it into action, providing a framework for institutions to develop their own cybersecurity plan.
