La Mesa TIC: Digital Government: Uruguay, a global benchmark country

Since February, Uruguay has been part of the D7, the Digital 7 group, which includes the world's leading countries in digital government. We are now there along with Canada, South Korea, Estonia, Israel, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Club members aim to develop connectivity, digital citizenship, early childhood programming, open government, open standards and open source, and people-centred government.

They are committed to helping each other to become ever better, more agile and efficient digital governments through exchange and joint learning.

How did we become part of the D7, what does it mean, what are the benefits for citizens, what are the goals of the Digital Agenda?

We talked about these issues today in a new edition of La Mesa TIC with: José Clastornik, Executive Director of AGESIC; Cristina Zubillaga, Director General of the Department of Sustainable and Intelligent Development of the Municipality of Montevideo; Roberto López, Manager of the e-Government Network of Latin America and the Caribbean; Leonardo Loureiro, President of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (Cuti).
