The declaration of a health emergency on 13 March posed a problem for those who needed to consult a specialist doctor or had arranged a date for surgery.
From that day on, face-to-face consultations and non-urgent operations were reduced to a minimum to avoid overcrowding at health centres. At the end of May, these services were gradually resumed, albeit with restrictions to minimise the number of patients.
The reduction of face-to-face health services brought, in return, an increase in care through telemedicine tools.
