The objective of the Jóvenes a Programar project is to contribute through education to the development of the ICT sector, providing training in testing and in the most widely used programming languages in the market. It aims to expand job opportunities in an area with high demand for skilled human resources.
Jóvenes a Programar began last year with the objective of training young people between 17 and 26 years old with a secondary school diploma (3rd year of high school or UTU).
In line with the strategic axes of Plan Ceibal, it aims to develop computational and logical thinking as a tool applicable to different areas.
Professionals from technology companies and organizations teach the main programming languages using Plan Ceibal's videoconferencing infrastructure. A leader who is personally in the classroom also provides workshops for the development of socioemotional skills.
English and preparation for the job market are added to the training. The course design includes workshops, reading material or distance learning assignments, as well as a variety of activities with companies: job interviews, guided company visits, technology talks or panel discussions.
The courses, assembled in relation to the demand, are free and all the necessary materials for learning are provided. You learn to master some of the most requested programming languages by the industry (Genexus, Phyton, Web Development, .NET) and testing. Participation in the courses does not require previous programming knowledge.
PARTICULARITIES OF THE COURSE
The courses and materials are free. If you don't have a computer, we'll lend you one.
At the end of the nine-month course you will master one of the main programming languages in demand by the industry (.Net, Python, Genexus or WebUI) or what you need to work in testing.
You will train with professionals who are now working in leading technology companies and organizations.
They make today's software, they know how the industry works and they know what you need to get started in this field.
Validate your knowledge for job opportunities in the technology sector or in any company that uses technology to manage its activity. It will allow you to apply as a Basic Programmer or Basic Software Tester.
Jóvenes a Programar aims to promote job placement in a highly demanded field. Its Labor Intermediation Service links students with the environment and culture of the technology sector, in addition to managing a job bank.
