The entrepreneurship marathon completed its second edition and awarded the most innovative solutions to real problems presented in the sectors of banking, health, agriculture and creative industries.
When asked about how they evaluate this edition, the interviewees agreed that there was an improvement compared to 2015, both in quantity and quality of proposals: "This year there were much more solid projects presented". They also referred to the presentation of a fourth sector: "We incorporated a new vertical that was the creative industries, which had a very good response and very good projects came out".
The 2016 edition of the contest, organized by CPA Innovation, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti), ORT University and the Da Vinci Foundation, had as winners "The bot makers", in the Banking category; "Vigiator", in Agro; "Trip Assistance", in Health and "The talent machine", in Creative Industries.
As for the differential of the winners, Camou and Cayre mentioned that much emphasis was placed on the solutions being prototyped and tested. "The bet we have is that the proposals that win are not only good ideas on paper, but that they have been validated as much as possible by potential users," they said.
They also referred to the importance of contests such as the Emprendetón. In this sense, they highlighted the collaboration received by the proponents: "We accompany them with workshops, and they are strengthened throughout the whole process". The link that the entrepreneurs establish with their potential clients was also an aspect they valued, as well as the fact that the applicants propose solutions to real and concrete problems.
