Group of agricultural producers seeks startups in LatAm to incorporate innovation

NXTP Labs opens call for innovative ventures in the agricultural sector in Latin America through the Agricultural Innovation Network.

The Agricultural Innovation Network is made up of the main agricultural producers in Latin America, who develop activities of production, industrialization and commercialization of food in more than 800,000 hectares in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay.

 

Its productive activities include: grains -soybean, corn, sunflower, wheat and more-; industrial plants of sugar cane, flour, oil and balanced food; livestock -more than 150,000 head of cattle-; pig breeding -50,000 capons raised annually- 40,000 hectares of rice production fully integrated and dairy farms -15,000 cows in full production. In addition, the group has a distribution network covering more than 30 countries.

 

The program is aimed at empowering startups that seek to scale their businesses through the most important network of agricultural producers in the region, either as potential customers or as co-creators of new products and services .

 

"At NXTP we have been supporting the development of the venture ecosystem in general since 2011 and the AgTech ecosystem in particular since 2016. This new approach is aligned to the evolution of the industry and the needs of a constantly changing market. We believe that by fostering collaboration between startups and large producers, the adoption of new digital technologies in agriculture will accelerate and will have a great impact on the region," said Marta Cruz, co-founder of NXTP Labs.

 

We are looking for startups that provide innovative solutions in the following areas:

  • Mechanization and automation: robotics, IoT, irrigation systems.
  • Supply chain tech: food logistics, traceability.
  • Big Data: Data processing and analysis.
  • Animal e-health: remote monitoring, sensor technology.
  • Trading and financing: marketplaces, credits.
  • New forms of agriculture: hydroponics, aquaculture, indoor farming.
  • Precision agriculture: drones and satellites, integrated software.
  • Agricultural management: digital solutions, management systems.
  • Innovation and distribution: food E-Commerce.

 

Startups that are selected will receive support for regional expansion, access to new customers and specialized mentoring. In addition, they will have access to investment opportunities, brand visibility, discounts on technology platforms and access to a network of world-class contacts.

 

Applications will be accepted from startups that have a product or service ready to be commercialized and with possibilities of commercial insertion, as well as an innovative business model that generates impact in the agricultural and livestock industry. In addition, the products and services of the startups submitted must have the potential to develop regionally or globally and the founding team must have a full-time dedication to the development of their company.

 

Applications will be open until March 18.
