After meeting with authorities of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology, the Minister of Labour, Ernesto Murro, assured that the Telework Law is a project in which the government is very interested. "The ministry is fulfilling all the corresponding requirements for its regularisation. "This government does not want people to work in any old way," the head of the MTSS emphasised.
At a press conference, Murro said that the meeting held with CUTI president Álvaro Lamé on Tuesday at the organisation's headquarters was very positive. He also highlighted the collaboration of the chamber, which always contributes "good ideas" in favour of the country's development.
With regard to the Telework Law, Murro recalled that the undersecretary of the portfolio, Nelson Loustaunau, made a presentation on the subject at the International Labour Organisation (ILO). "For the ministry, it is a very important issue and we believe that it should be present in the Labour Council proposed by the trade union centre".
He also said that regularisation is essential and that the ministry is complying with all the relevant requirements. "This government does not want people to work in any old way," he stressed.
He also announced that CUTI authorities are due to visit the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (Inefop) to present a proposal for the training of 4,000 more people than are already working in the sector today.
"The government looks favourably on these initiatives," he added. The event was attended by the national director of Employment, Eduardo Pereyra, and CUTI authorities.
