The Software Engineering research group of the Faculty of Engineering of the UdelaR is conducting a joint research project with the ORT University and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in relation to the issue of technical debt (Technical Debt), which has had an important boom in recent years and has begun to be widely discussed in the industry community and academia. Within the framework of this project, software professionals are asked to collaborate by answering a survey related to the perception and management of technical debt in the Uruguayan software industry.

The results will be presented at MIS.uy (Meetup of software engineering in Uruguay) to know first hand what is the degree of understanding and perception of technical debt in Uruguay and how it is managed. In turn, these results will be contrasted with the results obtained in Brazil and will be the focus of discussion at the meeting. The date and time will be announced at a later date, but it will probably be between mid-May and early June. It is expected that the results of this survey will be the starting point to start a discussion on the subject in the Uruguayan software community, as well as to encourage the development of joint projects between University and Industry on this topic. Participation in the survey is anonymous. The estimated time to answer the questionnaire varies between 10 and 25 minutes (depending on the answers). We thank you for your participation and we are grateful for the wide diffusion among colleagues and friends of the software development area.
