Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness in Latin America(ECLA) is Columbia Business School's program designed especially for Latin American entrepreneurs.

During 13 months, through a specially designed methodology, they help entrepreneurs to make their businesses more efficient and accelerate their growth.

It consists of a combination of face-to-face classes, online classes and two projects guided by a teacher who acts as a consultant for the companies.

This program exists since 2012, the year in which representatives of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) attended the site to learn about the proposal, which seemed "excellent".

The course is comprised of six educational "modules", where not only are the fundamentals of business taught, but participants are also asked to extend beyond the classroom, implementing in practice the business plans they developed in the classroom.

The program also provides opportunities to generate contacts, meet entrepreneurs from different Latin American countries and allows them to work together in partnerships that are vital to ensure the success of their businesses.

Graduates of the program receive the Chazen Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness (CEC). Completion of the program equips participants with the tools to develop a successful business.

Marcelo Lopez and Iang Yim of UruIT were two of the 36 entrepreneurs who graduated from the 2017 ECLA Program.

In this generation, 16 companies from 8 countries participated, being UruIT the only Uruguayan company. If any Cuti member is interested in participating, it is important to remember that registrations are open until October 31 at the following link.
