On Thursday, August 16, eCommerce Day Montevideo will take place, an instance in which entrepreneurs and business executives will have access to multiple workshops and thematic talks on the Internet business industry. As part of this event, the eCommerce Startup Competition will be held, which aims to promote digital entrepreneurship and provide support to Latin American projects with the greatest potential for development in the ecosystem of e-commerce and Internet business.
In each eCommerce Day a select jury evaluates the projects presented and selects a local winner, who in turn will compete during the rest of the year with candidates from the rest of the region to obtain the top award.
This year the event will take place in 18 countries in the Americas, starting with Uruguay and continuing in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Dominican Republic.

This initiative, which has already highlighted more than 300 projects, seeks to guide entrepreneurs towards best practices based on success stories from different countries, increasing the quantity and quality of the members of the digital ecosystem.
