The largest IT Job Fair in the interior of the country was co-organized by the Technological University (UTEC) and Smart Talent (Uruguay XXI). This was the second edition of U-Tech.
The event, which took place at the ITR CS Durazno, arose from the growing existence of qualified human capital in the different regions outside the capital and the need for technology companies to hire qualified personnel.
During the fair, the companies of the sector had a specific space to promote the exchange, and where they talked with the attendees about their projects, services, business models and job proposals in search of new talents.
Álvaro Pena, director of Special Programs at UTEC, said that nine out of ten of UTEC's Information Technology students are in the labor market, but "we are interested in the remaining 10% entering the labor market.
Bryan Paiz, a self-taught young man who created a car racing simulator, gave a presentation. He said it took him 5 months to build it. It was one of the interesting points of the Fair.
From UTEC, students and teachers presented the graduate profile of the Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, the projects developed and the skills of students and graduates of the career.
Uruguay is Latin America's leading per capita exporter of Information Technology. The international success of its innovative products and services, the talent and skills of its human resources, characterize the dynamic IT industry in Uruguay.
