The delegation, which will arrive in China on 31 January and will maintain activities until 5 February, includes the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) - including its president, Leonardo Loureiro, and representatives of 25 companies in the sector -, the head of Uruguay XXI, Antonio Carámbula, and the head of the Uruguay-China Chamber of Commerce, Gabriel Rozman.

The main objective of the trip is the promotion of trade and investment, as well as visits to major technology companies in the cities of Shenzhen, Canton province, and in the Chinese capital, Beijing. Among the companies are Huawei, DJI, ZTE and Makeblock.

Meetings will also be held with the China International Trade Promotion Agency (CCPIT), in which spaces will be created for business meetings with Chinese businessmen from both cities. The agenda includes contacts with national and regional official bodies. In addition, the minister will give two seminars.

In 2016, Minister Cosse took part in the tour of China led by the President of the Republic, Tabaré Vázquez. There, in addition to touring companies in the sector, she held meetings with Chinese industry, energy and telecommunications authorities. As a result, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining and its Chinese counterparts signed memoranda of understanding in key areas of the portfolio.
