Minister Cosse, together with her counterparts Eneida de León, of Housing, Territorial Planning and Environment; and Víctor Rossi, of Transport and Public Works, visited the Fraunhofer Institute's Center for Machinery and Construction Technology, where several activities were developed together with the Technical University of Berlin.
The occasion was propitious for the head of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining to sign three memorandums of understanding with the Fraunhofer Institute, linked to Industry 4.0, ICT, renewable energies, energy efficiency and Smart Grids (bidirectional electricity distribution networks).

The agreements will improve cooperation in the 4.0 technology sector, through technological knowledge and innovation and research applied to industry, says a statement published on the ministry's website.
With respect to the memorandum on ICT, it seeks to promote research and knowledge development programs in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and electronic and microelectronic knowledge applied to industry.
Finally, the objective of the memorandum on renewable energies, energy efficiency and Smart Grids signed promotes research and capacity building to advance in the diversification of energy sources in our country, with emphasis on renewables.
During her first day of activities in Germany, Cosse participated in the inauguration of the Uruguayan stand at the Fruit Logística fair in Berlin. This exhibition, visited by 70,000 people annually, presents facilities on fruit production and fresh food products.
