The Industrial Fund of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) is an instrument designed and aligned to the objective of diversifying and technifying the national productive structure, as well as to the development of support industries that enhance the competitiveness of existing value chains.
This fund has been in place since 2011, co-financing with non-reimbursable funds to more than 200 companies from 15 industrial sectors for a total of $5.4 million.
During the current year, a new operating regulation has been defined, approved by ministerial resolution of August 15, 2016, which simplifies and unifies the previous regulation, and also includes adjustments aimed at reaching its objectives more efficiently.
Within this framework, the new call will be launched on September 6, in which the selected projects may be supported for an amount of up to 100,000 dollars, depending on the type of project. Unlike the previous system, it will not operate under an open window system.
The new proposal allows to present individual or associative projects of:
a) companies producing industrial goods or services related to the sectors prioritized at the time of each call;
b) institutions or associations that provide business support services; and
c) its spaces of public-private industrial articulation.
Those projects that have been submitted and not evaluated under the previous regulations must be resubmitted and comply with the current requirements.
