This year, projects that include innovation and technology were promoted, from a blog to educational support via videoconferencing.

A few days ago, authorities from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (Miem) were in the city of San Carlos to learn about the project, within the framework of the tour that different portfolios and members of the government are carrying out throughout the country.

The meeting, held in the Municipality of San Carlos, was headed by the general director of the Miem Secretariat, Fernanda Cardona; the national director of Crafts, Small and Medium Enterprises, Rafael Mendive; and the mayor (I) of San Carlos, José Luis Curbelo.

During the meeting, local authorities thanked the support of the portfolio and highlighted the increase in quality in the Youth Participatory Budget, which with its commitment to innovation and technology had an "added value" that allows the successful development of projects.

"San Carlos VaPa'Í" (Values-Participation-Innovation) is supported by the Miem, as well as Antel and the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti); the Faculties of Engineering and Fine Arts of the University of Uruguay, Agesic, the Ricaldoni Foundation and the Technological University of Uruguay.

The program seeks to promote the participation and commitment of young people with their environment through the appropriation of technology. In addition to the Youth Participatory Budget, it consists of a series of lectures and the refurbishment of the Youth House, whose employees will receive courses to use it.

This year, as part of "San Carlos VaPa'I", a TEC Fair was held, which featured demonstrative projects on robotics and 3D printing, use of ICT, machine learning, drones, video games exhibition, as well as talks on video games and digital citizenship.

2,300 young people from San Carlos and other areas attended the TEC Fair. Afterwards, there was a series of talks that included robotics, 3D printing and video editing from the cell phone, given by institutions such as Miem, Antel, Udelar, UTEC, Agesic and local entrepreneurs.
