On Monday, August 1st, a meeting was held between authorities of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI), with the presence of its new president, Álvaro Lamé, together with the Counselor of the Technological University(UTEC) Rodolfo Silveira and representatives of this university.

During the meeting, alternatives were evaluated to deepen the cooperation ties between both institutions, in order to provide more opportunities for young Uruguayans to be trained in the area of Information Technology.

Since 2015, UTEC has been teaching in Durazno the Technicatura in Information Technology, a career that has a mixed modality (70% virtual and 30% face-to-face), and that will be replicated in 2017 at the Regional Technological Institute located in Fray Bentos.

In an area where there is an unsatisfied demand for specialized human capital, CUTI and UTEC have been working together in the realization of visits to companies in the sector and conducting lectures and courses.

In addition, they plan to articulate for the development of internships aimed at providing UTEC students with areas of work and professional practice, so that they acquire skills to quickly enter the labor market.
