New Cuti board of directors took office and met with the Minister of Industry

Businessman Álvaro Lamé will preside the Chamber for the next two years.

In a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Carolina Cosse, the new board of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) initiated its action plan for the next two years. The meeting was led by businessman Álvaro Lamé, founder and CEO of Netgate, who assumed the Presidency of the entity. 

 

 

In addition to sharing a toast to celebrate the assumption of the new directive, the authorities of the Ministry of Industry (MIEM) and Cuti agreed to establish a day of joint work between representatives of government and industry to seek answers and tools that address the needs of the sector.  

 

 

"For us it is essential to establish a fluid dialogue with the government and relevant actors, contributing together to focus the Uruguayan technology ecosystem behind the objectives and needs of the industry," said Lamé. 

 

 

In the first meeting with Cosse, the directive established the importance of building a human capital base that aims to reinvent the industry for the future, generating training and development proposals that attract young people and allow retaining professional and technical talent in Uruguay. From this perspective, the importance of training entrepreneurs in the sector and promoting the development of technological ventures that provide quality work and project the industry abroad was also raised.

 

On the other hand, the need to promote the regulation of telework as a fundamental tool to offer better working conditions was addressed. In this regard, it was urged to ensure stable and internationally competitive regulatory frameworks. 

 

"The Information Technology (ICT) sector generates high potential ventures, so we are convinced of the need to work for its development, exciting young people with innovative proposals, in a strategy that points to the future of the sector and the whole country," said the president of Cuti. 

 

 

 

Lamé shares the leadership of the Chamber with businessmen Juan Manuel Urraburu, Marianne Oliveira, Leonardo Loureiro, Claudia Fernández, Marcelo Bertorelli, Aníbal Gonda, Martín Naor, Pablo Brenner, Martín Alcalá-Rubí, Pablo Casal, Sylvia González, Rodrigo Astiazarán, Nicolás Fernández, Líber Fernández, Virginia García Morales, Mario Tucci, Ángel Bertollotti, Silvia Nane and Marcelo Montado.
