The engineer and manager of the company Quanam, Leonardo Loureiro, took over as president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) after a period in which the organization was led by a group composed of the general secretary and vice presidents of the various working committees of the union.

Loureiro, who between 2004 and 2012 assumed various responsibilities as a director of Cuti, has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry working with large organizations locally and internationally. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidad de la República, an MBA from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay and has been teaching for 25 years. He currently teaches in the MBA program at ORT University.

Its management, which will last until June 2018, will continue the line drawn by the current board, strengthening ties with various government agencies and networking with all educational institutions to consolidate the goal of training more and better personnel for the industry. The same will happen with the work aimed at telework initiatives, the search for tax incentives for companies in the sector, the promotion of exports, the internationalization of local companies and the installation of foreign companies in national territory.
