As it is traditional, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) gathered its members to say goodbye to the year and distinguish the most outstanding companies and people within the industry, for their contributions to the development and growth of the sector.

Between music and themed food centers, attendees eagerly awaited the delivery of the Technology Industry Awards, which this year awarded in four categories. The first winner of the night was the Fenicio e-commerce venture in the category "Best software product or service".

Fenicio is an e-commerce platform created by the company Análoga and focused on maximizing sales in virtual channels and providing an optimal shopping experience. The product has been in existence for two years, is already installed in several retail stores in Uruguay and is projected abroad. "For a company that has been providing services for 15 years, it is complex to get into the world of products. Even today it is a challenge".said founding partner Leonardo Álvarez.

The "Innovative Company" award went to SimDesign, a pioneer in virtual reality solutions to promote products in an innovative way. The company, founded in late 2013 by Luis Ángel Calabria, Gabriel Lambach, Federico Márquez and Nicolás Bermúdez, currently works in Uruguay and Paraguay developing content for brands such as Coca-Cola, Salus, Unilever and Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

IDATHA was recognized as "Best startup of 2016". The startup, founded in 2014 by IT professionals and academics, works to position itself as a benchmark in Latin America in the field of data analysis and processing in key areas such as machine learning, natural language processing and artificial intelligence.

"I thank the company Pixis and its director, Diego Sastre, who trusted us two and a half years ago to support us in the development and to work together", explained Carlos Álvarez, in charge of Marketing and Communications at IDATHA.explained Carlos Álvarez, in charge of Marketing and Communications at IDATHA.
