In an important step towards opening new markets for Uruguayan ICTs, the president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (Cuti), Carlos Caetano, travelled to France and Japan as part of the business delegation accompanying the President of the Republic, Tabaré Vázquez.
Caetano participated in the working breakfast organised by the magazine "Politique International", which brought together the most prominent figures in French business. He was also invited to a similar working lunch hosted by the Mouvement Des Enterprises de France.
In an unbeatable occasion to promote the business climate, the agenda included a coffee networking session, which was opened by the Minister of Economy, Danilo Astori, followed by a presentation of the country by the general manager of Uruguay XXI, Álvaro Inchauspe.
"This was a unique opportunity to open up commercial possibilities for our companies, facilitating the insertion and strengthening of our export capacity. Uruguayan software is highly appreciated abroad, and has the potential to continue growing," said Caetano.
Next week, the delegation will travel to Japan, where there will be a matchmaking session between business representatives from both countries, who will hold a dialogue at the World Bank headquarters in Tokyo.
Caetano stressed that "beyond the official meetings, organised specifically for business exchange, the two destinations allow us to have a more direct exchange, as we share lunches and dinners with our peers from the host countries. We hope to return to the country with new doors open for Uruguayan ICTs".
