In the region, Colombia is the fourth largest market in the video game industry, with an annual turnover of 417 million dollars. 64% of the online population, around 22 million people, play video games on PCs, consoles or mobile devices. On smartphones or tablets, Colombian mobile gamers are distributed in 49% of women and 51% of men. Although all age groups play, 30% are between 25 and 34 years old.
Favorite game types are Action/Adventure (55%), Racing (53%) and Sports (53%), while outside of gaming, movies, music and technology are their most frequent interests.
At the same time, Colombia is also one of the most important esports markets in the region. The Liga de Videojuegos Profesional, the country's largest operator, has registered more than 2 million spectators at its tournaments. As in the rest of the world, streaming platforms are growing rapidly, especially among young people. According to Twitch, around 320,000 Colombians visit the site every day.
