The eCommerce Institute and the main institutions in Latin America that promote digital commerce join forces with its global ecosystem to present this comprehensive project, whose main objective is the training and certification of skills with a focus on developing human capital, allowing thousands of young people in Latin America to turn to study digital-based careers.

This initiative aims, on the one hand, to help retailers and brands develop and professionalise their human resources in order to face the challenges caused by the hyper-acceleration of digital channels in a sustainable and profitable way. On the other hand, it aims to facilitate the rapid integration of people made redundant by the pandemic into the world of digital commerce, thus speeding up their retraining.

"We have the knowledge and experience of our entire network of local chapters, academic institutions, partners, retailers and brands, along with their need to sustain the digital acceleration that 2020 brought. That' s why we are driving that 'force' of the entire digital ecosystem to together make this ambitious but very achievable challenge for 2024 a reality," said Marcos Pueyrredon, President of the eCommerce Institute and Global Executive SVP of VTEX .

According to Guillermo Varela, president of the Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU), "Commerce Mind is a unique opportunity for our people to train abroad as well. Uruguay has a good training offer, but by being part of this network we join the effort of all the Chambers and educational institutions in the region".

«La virtualidad nos regala la oportunidad que la gente se forme en habilidades digitales, una condición indispensable para el futuro laboral de los uruguayos. Necesitamos que las empresas apuesten a invertir y acompañar la formación de las personas, porque sin ellas el canal digital puede perder competitividad, erosionando así su productividad y fundamentalmente el empleo, que es uno de los puntos que más queremos fortalecer desde la CEDU», señaló.
