The Uruguayan company GoDoWorks is landing in the Mexican market after establishing itself in Colombia and Bolivia. Behind it are Bruno Nocella, Luis Sconamiglio and Eduardo Ruiz. Their product is a technological solution (named after the company) for business geomanagement that allows real-time monitoring of human resources working outside the office.

The internationalization process began three years ago after their mentors, Pablo Salomón and Daniel Goldman, in the framework of the RunIT plan of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI), recommended them to go abroad.

Opening markets was not easy, according to Bruno Nocella. The first country they visited was Peru with the idea of looking for clients and managing them from Uruguay. However, they realized that they had to change their vision and set up their own offices. Once they understood this, they visited Colombia, found fertile ground and decided to establish their first office in Bogota.

The next step was taken six months ago when they established themselves in Bolivia and capitalizing on everything they learned, they arrived in Mexico where they are preparing to install two offices, which will be operational in 15 days. Settling in these countries allowed them to have access to the headquarters of large Latin American companies, opening up unparalleled opportunities. One of the most outstanding cases was the agreement recently reached with the Diebold ATM network with 700 licenses throughout the continent. In order to guarantee the service in each one of their offices, the owners themselves train the staff that will work there. The guidelines and directives are provided from Uruguay.

It should be noted that in Uruguay is where each project is developed and worked in depth while abroad there are only commercial advisors and first level technical service. In case of any difficulty, the development team solves it from Montevideo.

Information tool

The geo-management system allows remote monitoring of employee performance outside the company, through tablets or smartphones.

Its creators began working on the project in 2011 but without a clear focus. Thanks to the work with the first clients, they managed to understand that they had to focus on a single product in order to enhance it.

The objective of the tool is to allow decentralized information gathering and systematize it through the interaction of the web platform and smart mobile devices, visualizing what happens in each client. This solution is currently applied in three sectors: health, service and trade marketing; however it is not exclusive and if necessary it can be applied in another area. As an advantage, the agile decision making is visualized, thus improving the service and therefore the level of customer satisfaction, as well as increasing productivity and time optimization by allowing to work on the information instead of having to process it.

It allows to "empower" the clients, as they can evaluate the work once it is finished.

"We defend and create the concept of business geo-management among a small number of companies: by incorporating a mobile component to organizations, we consolidate information in real time, which allows us to make decisions faster and faster," said Nocella. To achieve this, they carry out a consultative sale to internalize the processes, language and work dynamics of each client.

GoDoWorks Competition and Marketplace

The competition in Uruguay is little but necessary stressed Nocella, who also said that it serves to confirm that it is well rumbeado and the certainty that there is business. If there is no competition "doubt that your product is useful", he stressed. Another reason why he believes that there should be competition is that you learn from the other and you can improve. In the other markets where they are present there is "lateral" competition, i.e. companies that provide mobile products but not an integral solution in which a "mobile arm" is offered to a company. In Uruguay, GoDoWorks' principals target as clients industry leaders who are looking to incorporate technology. They believe that it is these leading business owners who can set the trend and invest in incorporating this type of solution that adds value to their business. The cascading effect happens naturally, Nocella noted, which is why they are targeting the same types of organizations overseas as well.
