TOTVS Labs launches a solution with Beacons

The technology that will revolutionize the consumer experience and will be available in the market through a partnership between TOTVS Labs and DNA Shopper, - the Brazilian mobility startup for the Retail segment - will be called TOTVS Locl.

TOTVS, through its innovation lab in Silicon Valley, TOTVS Labs, is also acting as an incubator of disruptive technology companies seeking to offer the market, through partnerships, tools that meet the behavioral changes of consumers and companies. The first of these, with DNA Shopper, a Brazilian mobility startup for the retail segment, will offer the sector a complete solution of Beacons, micro-location technology that will revolutionize the consumer experience: TOTVS Locl.

 

The micro-location sensors in Beacons enable people to interact with the real world through mobile devices such as smartphones and smartwatches, bringing objects to life and transforming them into powerful sources of information for companies in different industry sectors. With this technology, organizations can send a message with advice or information about a product displayed by the customer and even a discount coupon. For this, the user needs to have an application installed on the device that allows this interaction.

 

TOTVS Labs has been testing Beacons for a year, even evaluating the benefits of the tool's interaction with different mobile devices. DNA Shopper, on the other hand, was looking for an organization with deep knowledge of the segment and credibility, such as TOTVS, to carry out this action. The collaboration between the companies accelerated the development of the tool.

The result of the partnership is a complete Beacons solution for the Retail segment, which includes a micro-localization tool, to be installed on products or in a specific department, a web platform for elaboration, campaign management and an application for mobile devices.

 

"Beacons will allow companies to develop and manage segmented campaigns aiming for greater engagement. In addition, micro-location technology will establish a new frontier for companies to interact with customers in the physical world by enabling personalized action based on the identification of consumer behavior," says Almeida.

 

With this technology, companies will have access to an infinite amount of data that today is the privilege of e-commerce. It will be possible to send recommendations and interact with customers in the offline world based on their browsing data, making it possible, for example, to offer a discount coupon to the consumer who saw a certain product in e-commerce and went to the store to try it. Or also present important information to a customer who is next to a product or in a department, according to the strategy adopted by the retailer.

Once this barrier is overcome, companies in the physical world will be able to extract relevant information and provide a unique and unforgettable experience to consumers, who are likely to become regular customers of their brand and products. The Beacons solution developed by TOTVS in partnership with DNA Shopper already has two pilot projects in Brazil. Available for Android, IOS and Apple Watch, the application can be adapted according to the client's needs and, if the retailer already has one, it can be integrated to the other functionalities of the solution through APIs.
