TOTVS supports internationalization in Latin America

The company's solutions meet the legislations of all countries in the region and allow the integration of information between different units.

Montevideo, November 9, 2015 - TOTVS, leader in software development in Latin America, has supported over the years, the structured growth and international expansion of organizations in the countries of the region. The specialization in the legislation of each of the Latin American countries, allied to the knowledge of the cultural traits of these countries, allows TOTVS to offer organizations customized services that meet their local and internationalization needs. 

 

GA.MA. Italy, the absolute leader in Latin America in hair straighteners and hair dryers, is the inventor of hair straighteners in the Western market. The company has adopted TOTVS management software to unify administrative, accounting and management procedures in its branches, located in different countries of the region. Currently, this tool is used in branches in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Colombia.

 

"At the time when the management defined the objective, the subsidiaries in each country were using local systems, each one in its field of application, technology and of different quality," reports Alejandra Sánchez Moreno, corporate IT manager of GA.MA. Argentina. The first step for the transformation was to define the requirements for the selection of a single system as the technology had to support the different companies of the group, address accounting requirements in different currencies, as well as different languages, or at least operate in English as well as the main languages of the group. Also, the vendor needed to provide local support in the countries where GA.MA operates.

 

Another organization that relies on TOTVS solutions to unify its operations in different countries in the region is the SURFAX Group, which operates in the production, development and marketing of more than 25 products for road construction, also uses TOTVS solutions. With the tool, the group, present in Mexico, Colombia and Peru, has carried out all its accounting electronically, allowing the issuance of electronic invoices and increasing the quality of service provided by the company.

 

In addition to enabling electronic invoicing in accordance with the country's regulations, the system has improved strategic decision-making by unifying all of the organization's information and simplifying the demands of government agencies. "With the previous solution, we could not cover 100% of the reports requested by the Tax Administration Service (SAT), which forced us to work three times more," says Mariana de la Vega Romero, Controller of Grupo SURFAX. The company also implemented TOTVS CRM to control the activities of advisors and consultants assigned outside the office.

 

Cosmeco, a company dedicated to the production of personal care products of the Fareva Group, is one of the companies that received the support of the TOTVS solution in its growth and internationalization process. In early 2014, the company adopted TOTVS ERP in its factory in Mexico, due to the reliability and control offered by the tool, validated by the Brazilian subsidiaries, mainly in relation to production and billing routines. The implementation guaranteed the quality of all processes and reports submitted to the Government, such as the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (COFEPRIS).

 

Cosmeco's director was already familiar with the TOTVS system and knew that the ERP was user-friendly, flexible, easy to implement and aligned to the company's needs. "We opted for TOTVS solutions thanks to all the benefits validated by the Brazilian branches. Today, we are very satisfied with the high reliability offered by the tool and we are sure that TOTVS will be one of the best partners for our immediate and future growth plans," reports Sergio Ibarra, general director of Cosmeco Mexico.

 

The company's solutions were also adopted by Unigel, one of the main manufacturers of specialty chemicals, fertilizers, plastics and packaging in Latin America. The company has been using TOTVS software in Brazil for more than 10 years to control its operations, especially in the areas of finance, accounting, tax, inventory and logistics. The good results obtained led in 2006 to the change of management software used in the Plastiglas factory, a company of the group, leader in the production and commercialization of acrylic sheets in Mexico. For Fausto Mejía, logistics and IT manager of Unigel-Plastiglas, the TOTVS management software allowed cost reduction and time savings in the operation. "With the tool, the efficiency of the process was improved by 40%," says the executive.
